captivating

captivating

this is the same waterfall but taken from above. it was a pretty far drop, by my 80mmm (equiv) lens makes it look tiny. i’m not very happy with the composition, editing, or the colours of this photo. but i think the effect the gathering water at the bottom of the waterfall is too neat not to post. 30 second exposure with a tripod at f16, 2 neutral density filters (hoya nd8 and nd4), iso 100.

on the rocks

on the rocks

me and mike went out shooting again the other day. trying to find some new parks to shoot at, found this little place on ridge road in grimsby. had to do some intensive (and fun) climbing to get to the best waterfalls. 30 second exposure at f8, iso 100, using a tripod and a couple ND filters to make the scene dark enough for silky smooth exposures.

in the wild

in the wild

today my cat came in from outside looking like he fell into a huge…thing of…mud. so i took a few pictures of him and all the dried mud on him before we gave him a good washing…i think hes contemplating how embarrassing these photos of him are…

reflections

reflections

a really (conceptually) lame photo of me and my band. just thought id post one more from my trip to washington DC. check back in a bit for some new photos when i have some time to shoot new subjects…school is finished in 3 days…

stuck in arkansas

stuck in arkansas

this is the remains. this is all i have to show. here is mike, jared, and jeff throwing some rocks at signs to pass time while we wait for our van to cool down in the rain. somewhere random arkansas. i wish there was a better story to tell.

never have i

never have i

ive never been to such a rich city. in washington the sidewalks are as big as the roads, the trees contain the city like a forest, and everyone wears suits. i did not belong there.

the whitehouse

the whitehouse

another shot from washington dc, this is the back of the whitehouse which is visible for tourists. notice the sharpshooter standing on top of the whitehouse…

the definition of touring

the definition of touring

van broke down in arkansas during a severe thunderstorm. a tornado passed through that area the day before so we drove the van that was overheating to the max a couple miles down the road until we weren’t under the low clouds that were dark and slightly swirling. this is the van that we took to 4 mechanics…too many breakdowns.

capital hill

capital hill

and in the worst of situations comes some great tourist photos. recently i went on a tour with my band throughout the US. the tour was cut in half due to van problems (we saw 4 mechanics and many more breakdowns). when we first broke down in baltimore, maryland we missed our first show but instead gained an opportunity to drive to washington DC and walk around…we even saw barack obama leave the whitehouse (we think).
