infrared: trees and all that

another infrared shot i took last week. what i found was odd, is when I shoot infrared in JPGs they come out green in colour. When I shoot in raw they come out purple like this. who knew!

color infrared: fields

color infrared: fields

another infrared/colour photo combination. it’s not as noticeable as yesterdays because those green colours are more opt to have weird things happening in infrared. again taken with my sony f828, tripod, iso 64 at f2.0 1/30th with nd/ir filters.

kara has been bothering me to put up something a little more original. so i went out yesterday and took some infrared photos and colour photos, and stiched them together in photoshop. taken with my sony f828, hoya infrared filters and a couple ND filters on a tripod, 1/30th exposures, iso 64. i apologize for the long loading times, i just though some would be curious to see the combined image as well as the two untouched images.

this is my first try with infrared on my new camera, and i must say it is a lot harder than my sony f828. each shot i had to manually focus, then add my hoya r72 infrared filter to the lens of my camera on a tripod, then expose for about 25 seconds. winter isn’t a very good time for infrared because of the lack of nice vegetation but i thought i’d experiment anyways.

another shot from summer 2006 in infrared. a big storm is forming over an island in the middle of the water, shot handheld with my hoya infrared filter and two neutral density filters (nd 8 + 4).
