Foxhound Studio

Foxhound Studio

Well it’s been a long three months since I’ve posted on here. I’ve been hard at work establishing my own studio alongside my business partner W. Shane Duquette. The two of us started a design studio that can handle any type of job (large or small) and while we specialize in web design and motion design, we have a strong passion for illustration and photography as well. If you ever need any work done, please give us a shout on Foxhoundstudio.com and say you came from my personal blog.

Speaking of blogs, we’ve posted a few ongoing fitness experiments we’ve been doing on our Foxhound blog. Don’t forget to check back and look out for some upcoming photography tips. Thanks to all those who continued to support my personal website. It isn’t dead – but my attention has shifted to my business.

Thanks again for reading this, as it’s visitors like yourself that inspire me to create these outlets.
God bless,
Jared

maybe i just love banal photographs…or maybe i just love the concentration on composition, color, depth, and texture when there is nothing else interesting to dazzle our eyes with.

as i get ready for the new version of this site, i have been taking photos of my design work. so heres a shot taken looking down on my white kitchen table. book is kindly held by my roomate shane. shot with my 50mm 1.4, standing on top of the table, with a 430ex flash bounced to the right off a white wall.

for those who are interested in what this is, it is a school assignment where we were required to chose a typeface we admired and make a small book on it. this is page 4 where i laid out all the major characters contained in the font…

original attempt

original attempt

this post is in regards to yesterdays, so check that one out too if you want. this was my original cover for editorial design. unfortunately the client (my teacher) didn’t like that it was too erotic and edgy. i disagreed with her but i value and respect her opinion as my professor (and also being nice enough to squeeze me into her full class). just thought i’d post this as it tied in with yesterdays. the type on the poster is not as developed as the final (yesterdays) but that is because this idea was canned before it got to final stages.

*NOTE the original image of Meghan fox (the girl from transformers) is from an issue of FHM (for-him magazine) which i scanned to use for strictly educational and non-profit purposes. so no worries there.

mock-up scene music festival

mock-up scene music festival

i am currently rebuilding my website to include my design portfolio (i am a designer after all), so while that finishes up, i thought I would post some work as well as the original photograph i took. my friend cody graciously decided to help me and modeled his ear for what went under a lot of manipulation to satisfy the design concept.

this poster was outputted at 20 x 30 inches large and was one piece of many for the festival (tickets, wristbands, and programs were designed as well).
